In a Santa Cruz City Council Agenda meeting from June 17th, Santa Cruz City has voted unanimously to partner with Cruzio Internet to deliver 1000Mbps fiber internet to every household in the City of Santa Cruz.
True 1000Mbps fiber could significantly boost Santa Cruz’s internet economy, as it has in other communities in the country.
This announcement comes from a Tellus Venture Associates blog post, which is working with Cruzio on funding for the project.
The Santa Cruz city council voted unanimously last week to move ahead with negotiating an FTTP/FTTH partnership with a local independent Internet service provider
However, funding for the $52 Million dollar project (to be paid for by city bonds) hasn’t been approved by voters, though Cruzio has pledged $45,000 to fund development of a final operating and financial plan.
